Bury Hospice's preloved fashion show is at Greenmount Old School on Saturday 24 October, 2pm to 6pm. Tickets £15, children £5; every outfit is for sale.
Bury Hospice is putting its charity shop stock on a catwalk. The Devil Wears Preloved, a fashion show, is at Greenmount Old School on Saturday 24 October, from 2pm to 6pm.
Every outfit on the catwalk has been donated to the hospice’s charity shops. All of it goes on sale after the show. The details are on the hospice’s own event page.
What happens on the day
The hospice lists:
- a catwalk of casual wear, evening wear, wedding gowns, bridesmaid dresses, shoes and accessories, all from its charity shops
- a first look at the shops’ winter and Christmas collection
- boutique stalls to shop before the show
- live music from the vocalist Toni Lee
- Paul Condon as compere, who also comperes the hospice’s Strictly Best Foot Forward
The models are not professionals. The hospice says every one of them has a personal connection with the hospice.
The clothes were handpicked by the hospice’s retail team, and shop staff have been watching donations for pieces to show. Their stated aim is to bring “the glamour of Milan, Paris and New York” to Bury.

What it means for you
If you want a wedding or evening outfit without paying new prices, this is a chance to see it worn before you buy. The hospice has not said whether sizes or prices will be listed in advance, so go early if you are after something specific.
The money goes to the hospice on Rochdale Old Road. It provides specialist palliative and end-of-life care, and support for patients’ families, the hospice says.
