Bodycare is coming back to Bury, taking the former One Beyond unit on The Mall at Mill Gate and aiming to open before Christmas. No opening date has been set yet.
Bodycare is coming back to Bury. The health and beauty chain will open a store in the Mill Gate Shopping Centre, in the former One Beyond unit on The Mall.
The centre announced it in a news post on its own website, dated 21 September. Bodycare is “aiming to open its doors ahead of Christmas”, Mill Gate says. No opening date has been set. The centre says it will publish one once it is confirmed.
Mill Gate describes the move as Bodycare “making its return to Bury”. Bury is one of a growing number of towns getting the chain’s new-look stores, it says.
What the new store will sell
According to Mill Gate, the new-generation Bodycare stores carry:
- big-name beauty, skincare, haircare and personal care brands at affordable prices
- expanded K-Beauty (Korean skincare and make-up) ranges
- fine fragrance
- a professional piercing studio
- free-to-use content creator spaces, where shoppers can film social media content
Mill Gate’s announcement does not say how big the Bury store will be, how many jobs it will bring, or whether this store will have the piercing studio and creator space.
Other new arrivals at Mill Gate this year
Bodycare is the latest of several openings the centre has announced on its news page:
- Blue Inc, the menswear chain. Mill Gate’s page now says the store “has officially opened its doors”.
- Bury Works Neighbourhub, run by Ingeus, at 18 Union Arcade. It gives help with jobs, training, skills and wellbeing, and opened with a visit from the Mayor of Bury in August.
- H&T Pawnbrokers, which opened in May offering pawnbroking, gold buying, travel money and Western Union transfers.
The new shops are arriving in a centre that is about to change shape. Greater Manchester has put about £24m towards the first phase of rebuilding Mill Gate, and the first public consultation is due in November. We covered that in Mill Gate Bury gets £24m.
What it means for you
For now, nothing changes: the unit is not open yet. When it does open, it brings a health and beauty chain back to the town centre.
If you want the opening date, Mill Gate says it will post it on its website and social channels first. We will update this story when it is announced.
Parking for Mill Gate and the rest of the town centre is in our parking in Bury guide.
